Plantain-leaved Pussytoes, Antennaria plantaginifolia

 

Great low-growing ground cover with beautiful fuzzy leaves. 3 inches high. A sea of white flowers bloom in spring. It can be a low-maintenance lawn replacement.

 

Conditions:

Thrives and spreads in medium to dry soil in full sun. Cannot tolerate wet conditions and being covered with leaves.

 

Ecology:

Host plant to painted lady butterfly. Offers early-season nectar to a variety of bees.
